For athletes, the sweet spot is usually controlled intensity. Push hard enough to create adaptation, but not so hard that you lose mechanics, timing, and hand position.
How to Tell if Your Boxing Session Is Really Resistance Training
Ask a simple question: am I working against meaningful tension that challenges force, posture, or muscular endurance?
If the answer is yes, it belongs in the resistance training conversation. If the session is mostly light technical flow with minimal tension, it is still valuable, but it is not the same training stimulus.
